I fear there's a far more complex situation than this petition represents, and that many on Change.org fail to research or understand how there are serious public health and safety problems present, along with human rights violations as part of Chinese political policies.

The growth of this monastery since 1980 is relatively recent, and rapid. Some estimates place population now over 20,000, doubling in the past 15 years, with over 40,000 temporarily at some events. Tightly packed log cabins are highly flammable, and appear in photos to not have fire break separations. Living conditions in some areas are described as "slums". It's suspicious that efforts were made to suppress pictures of the major fire in 2014.
How does one tell if major health and safety issues really call for reducing population and segmenting flammable wood shacks, or the extent to which political policy is trying to censor dissent by maliciously oppressive practices to limit population, regulate provinces from which residents come, or isolate lay and monastic residents?

I'm signing for protecting Tibetans. Everybody was born with right of living in peace and harmony, so were Tibetans. They also have right to pursuit and practice their religion without interference from other countries. The action of manipulating, destroying the living areas and interfering into rights of Tibetans of Chinese government is unacceptable. Chinese government needs to stop this cruel action immediately.

From my own, direct experience, the method of understanding reality proposed by Gautama Siddhartha, the historical Buddha, at some point during the 5th century BCE, actually does offer people a method of getting to grips with the problem of being human. The fewer centres there are around the world that distribute this learning, the worse off we will be as a species. Let us suggest that this one continues to function.

I'm signing because I feel hurt and angry when I see pictures about Tibet people are being hit everyday. They lose 1000 years temples and their houses. China is destroying culture and young generation of a whole country. China's government are thinking that no one can do anything to stop them. I want to fight for Tibet people.

This Video Shows How Mercury Found in Fillings Causes Brain Damage!
It is a well-known fact that mercury is toxic. The World Health Organization states, “Elemental and methylmercury are toxic to the central and peripheral nervous systems. The inhalation of mercury vapour can produce harmful effects on the nervous, digestive and immune systems, lungs and kidneys, and may be fatal.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU8nSn5Ezd8
But, what most people do not understand is that the metal used for fillings, amalgam, is a blend of as much as 50% mercury with other metals. It is been used for fillings for 150 years, and dentists still hold to the belief that it is safe for use in teeth.
However, the video below from the University of Calgary Faculty of Medicine Dept. of Physiology and Biophysics tells a different story. It shows how mercury hinders brain neuron growth almost instantly.
The description for the video states, “This short presentation available on the University website clearly shows how mercury in fillings can destroy brain neurons as seen with people who have Alzheimer’s Disease.”
Other studies have found a link between mercury and Alzheimer’s disease.
Some autopsy studies found increased mercury levels in brain tissues of AD patients…In vitro models showed that inorganic mercury reproduces all pathological changes seen in AD, and in animal models inorganic mercury produced changes that are similar to those seen in AD.
Take a look at the video below and see what happens when mercury comes into contact with brain neurons.

Be fabulous, be you!
What do we aim at?
We believe that the world needs more from women and to make this come true the world needs a powerful movement to empower them. Being Woman is one such movement that aims at bringing ‘The Pink Revolution; globally.
We, along with the world, take pride in calling ourselves as the ‘Pioneers of the Pink Revolution’, globally!

At Being Woman, we believe that it is the people who matter the most. We are not just a group of three ambitious friends but a complete family of 50+ members from different corners of the world who act as the ultimate ambassadors to this massive and ambitious movement.
The Growth Story
Being Woman was found in mid 2012 by three friends, brought up in India and Pakistan with a desire to win hearts across the globe. Just like a few water droplets make up a glass full of water, in the same way it all started with a closed group of few females on Facebook. Growing gradually, the numbers increased over 15,000 women with due course of time.
To spread the awareness further and give it a global reach, in October 2015 along with the group, the founders decided to promote the page on Facebook. Within a span of 4 months, fans count crossed 3 lakhs, growing every single day.
The way ahead
‘The stronger, the better’. Do join the force to strengthen this mass movement further!

A holiday is a great opportunity to shoot a wide range of new subjects in all sorts of conditions. If you simply want to record memories you could leave your camera on auto, or point and shoot. However, if you’d like to return home with a collection of vibrant and dynamic images that best capture your experiences and the people and places you visit, the following tips will help you improve your travel photography.
1. Choose the Right Camera and Lens
photography equipment essentials - top travel photography tips
Matching your gear to the kinds of shots you want to take and the kind of travel you prefer makes photography more enjoyable and productive.
You don’t need expensive gear to take great photos but if you’re serious about travel photography and are aiming for success across the widest range of subjects in all situations, you can’t go past a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera with a couple of zoom lenses such as a 24-70mm and a 70-200mm.
2. Carry a Tripod
Tripods can be a hassle to pack and carry, but along with a shutter release cable or remote wireless switch, can be invaluable. During most of the day there’s plenty of light, and hand-holding the camera should be fine. In low-light conditions indoors or on city streets, increasing the sensor’s ISO setting will let you continue hand-holding the camera. But if you want to achieve images with minimum noise in low light, maximise depth of field and use slow shutter speeds for creative effects, a tripod is necessary.

The most common travel subjects that call for a tripod are landscapes and cityscapes. Many of the most successful pictures of these subjects are taken early or late in the day, when light levels are low and maximum depth of field is required to render the whole scene sharp.
3. Learn the Technical Stuff
No matter what camera you use, make sure you play around and get to know the ISO, shutter speed and aperture controls so that the mechanics of taking a photograph become second nature. You’ll then be able to concentrate on, and enjoy, the creative side of travel photography. When you come across interesting subjects and great lighting, you’ll have a much better chance of capturing those fleeting moments and expressions that make unique images.

4. Research and Plan
Research and planning go a long way to getting you to the right place at the right time. You’ll want to ensure you have enough time to cover all the important sights, as well as extra time to explore lesser known subjects and to experience the daily life of the people. Most importantly, check out the dates of special events such as festivals, public holidays and weekly markets. The spectacle, colour and crowds that are the hallmarks of these special days provide so many great photo opportunities that it’s well worth planning your trip around them.

5. Perfect your Photography Technique
There’s no better way to learn shooting DSLR for travel photography than getting out there and doing it. Planning and executing a shoot in your own city is a great way to practise your research skills, test your camera equipment, perfect your technique, develop your eye and get a feel for changing light. As a bonus, you’ll be rewarded with a fresh insight into your home town. You’re sure to see it in a different light, literally, and to discover subjects and places you didn’t know about.
Salt terraces, Maras, Peru - Richard I'Anson Photography Tips & Tricks
6. Compose for Impact
Make sure your photographs have a clear point of interest. This is usually the thing that caught your eye in the first place and should be the element around which your composition is based. Focus carefully on the subject to ensure it is sharp and aim to place it away from the centre of the frame. Don’t assume that your eye level or the first place from where you see your subject is the best viewpoint. A few steps left or right, going down on one knee or standing on a step can quickly improve a composition.
Novice monk Paro Dzong, Paro, Bhutan - Richard I'Anson Photography Tips & Tricks
7. Study the Light
The ability of light to transform a photo from the ordinary to the extraordinary is one of the most powerful tools at the photographer’s disposal.. The keys to the right light are its colour, quality and direction. As you settle on a potential subject, note where the light is falling and if it enhances your subject. There is an optimal time of day to photograph everything, so you may want to wait or return at another time if you can’t find a viewpoint that works. As a rule of thumb, most subjects are enhanced by the warm light created by the low angle of the sun in the one to two hours after sunrise and before sunset, so plan to be at the most important places early or late in the day.

8. Back Up as you Go
Finally, not exactly a travel photo tip but equally as important. Storing the only version of your photos on the memory card in your camera while you’re travelling is asking for trouble. Cameras are prime targets for theft. Ideally, you should always have two copies of your images on separate external storage devices and keep them in separate locations. If you don’t want to carry a laptop and external drives you can upload your images to online backup and storage facilities (whenever internet connection is possible), which provide an easy way to add a high level of security to protecting your precious travel photos.

VIENTIANE, Laos (AP) — The United States, Japan and Australia have urged China not to construct military outposts and reclaim land in the disputed South China Sea, in a strong show of support for Southeast Asian nations that have territorial disputes with Beijing in the resource-rich area.
A joint statement by the three allies, issued late Monday, ironically fills the vacuum created by Southeast Asia's main grouping, which during its meeting of foreign ministers on Sunday failed to take a stand against China because of disunity among themselves.
"The ministers expressed their serious concerns over maritime disputes in the South China Sea. The ministers voiced their strong opposition to any coercive unilateral actions that could alter the status quo and increase tensions," said the statement issued by Secretary of State John Kerry and foreign ministers Fumio Kishida and Julie Bishop.
The three met in Vientiane on the sidelines of a series of meetings organized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN. The grouping could have leveraged the recent decision by a permanent arbitration panel in The Hague, which ruled in favor of the Philippines in a case it brought against China in their dispute in the South China Sea.
The panel ruled that China's claim that amounts to claiming almost all of South China Sea was illegal. Implicit in the ruling is that China has no standing in its other disputes with Malaysia, Brunei and Vietnam, which also are ASEAN members.
But ASEAN became divided because of China's divide-and-rule diplomacy by winning support from Cambodia, and to some extent Laos, which resulted in the grouping issuing a joint statement on South China Sea that did not mention China by name or the arbitration ruling.
Instead, it fell upon ASEAN's allies to rush to their support.
In their joint statement, the ministers of Japan, Australia and the United States also expressed "strong support" for the rule of law and called on China and the Philippines to abide by the arbitration panel's award, "which is final and legally binding on both parties."
"The ministers stressed that this is a crucial opportunity for the region to uphold the existing rules-based international order and to show respect for international law," they said in one of the strongest and most detailed post-arbitration warnings by the allies against China.
In a clear broadside at China, the statement urged all parties to refrain from "unilateral actions that cause permanent physical change to the marine environment ... and from such actions as large-scale land reclamation, and the construction of outposts as well as the use of those outposts for military purposes."
China has been rapidly developing reefs and rocky outcrops into islands in the South China Sea, including building air strips capable of landing military aircraft. It claims historic rights to the vast sea, a claim that was rubbished by the arbitration panel, which said the sea is international waters and the rocky outcrops do not constitute sovereign islands that would give states an ownership on the surrounding waters.
For years China has prevented fishermen from other countries from venturing into the areas it claims, and has made it clear it will not back down despite the arbitration award, which it calls politically motivated, illegal and irrelevant. It has accused countries outside the region — notably the United States, Japan and Australia — of meddling in Southeast Asia and destabilizing the region.
In recent days, China's military has staged live-firing exercises in the area and said it would begin regular aerial patrols over the sea. It also has asserted that it will not be deterred from continuing construction of its man-made islands.

The Chinese have proven imperialistic, thuggish and cr00ked for their actions in the SCSea.
There is nothing to talk with them about how to keep the peace in the SCSea.
There is only one thing to do, and that is to tell them that they can go ahead and make people's day.
The court ruling is logical, and fair because:
according to the existing international definition of EEZ, the rocks and reefs in the SCSea can't have EEZ, period. Therefore these rocks and reefs are worthless, there is no need to be fussy about who own what worthless rock. Unless the Chinese want to redefine EEZ, they are illogical and lawless.
So now: what do you want Chinese? Go to war to redefine EEZ?
Go a head do it, make war.
Otherwise get out of the SCSea to have peace and prosperity.
Illogical, thuggish, cr00ked behavior will not benefit the Chinese.

ASEAN is not weak. They preferred bilateral talks. US, Japan and Australia form the axis of evil to create disharmony between ASEAN and China for their own benefits. And all the three countries have no claims to the disputed islands. Is it not a blatant interference in the affairs of ASEAN and China? Don't be lame.

Important facts like Taiping island is coerced to status of ROCK, under the eyes and noses of world human watching the episode, by the non ICJ recognized fake arbitration court. What a joke! this court of US and ally is trying to do...this only ring me back to the historical time of eight foreign countries rampaging China, where until today you still can see those treasures arts artifacts are still portrayed and on sales and tenders.....not to mention what had happened to many treaties traceable pre and post WWII..

I could see the news papers in Asia saying: "Where were the USA, Japan and Australia when Vietnam was building artificial island in the SCS, where were they when the Philippines was doing the same? These three outsiders now are exposed as the forces behind the scene making trouble in the SCS." Let's see if my prediction is correct. Why is Australia doing these lately, they were more with a policy of non-interference before? The US policy of not taking sides on the issue of sovereignty in the SCS seems to be just empty words.

This is a total load of raw sewage and everyone knows it. Washington, and their regional puppet weren't able to convince more than one or two countries to do their dirty work, so now, they're gonna pretend that the rest of the ASEAN countries (there are EIGHT more that won't do as Washington orders them) don't exist...while pretending to speak "for" them.
It's funny how people PRETEND to represent others...when they are actually spitting on the people they claim to represent. That's typical of Washington. Don't see it? Just look at the DNC.

A Japan based Chinese scholar named Zhu Jianrong at Toyo Gakuen University found that Japanese telegram and newspaper clippings from the 1920s and 1930s actually showed that the Japanese government at the time acknowleged China’s ownership of the Spratlys the Paracels Islands! In the 1930s, the French invaded nine of the Spratlys Islets. The Japanese warned the French that they were Chinese territories!
According to a Yomiuri Shimbun article published on July 21, 1933, the Japanese pointed out there had always been Chinese living on Thitu Island in the Spratlys and there were clear signs of Chinese people living in the other Spratlys islands.
In addition, according to a map published by Rand McNally (a famous American publishing company of maps, atlases and textbook) in 1947, both the Spratlys the Paracels Islands were clearly indicated as Chinese! As a matter of fact, the word ‘China’ was printed next to the Paracel Islands on the map!
Uncle Sam and his running dogs try to deny history. This is just shameful.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the 19th century, Europeans found that Chinese fishermen from Hainan annually sojourned on the Spratly islands for part of the year, while in 1877 it was the British who launched the first modern legal claims to the Spratlys.
When the Spratlys and Paracels were being surveyed by Germany in 1883, China issued protests against them. The 1887 Chinese-Vietnamese Boundary convention signed between France and China after the Sino-French War said that China was the owner of the Spratly and Paracel islands. China sent naval forces on inspection tours in 1902 and 1907 and placed flags and markers on the islands. The Qing dynasty's successor state, the Republic of China, claimed the Spratly and Paracel islands under the jurisdiction of Hainan.
The Spratlys and the Paracels were conquered by Japan in 1939. Japan administered the Spratlys via Taiwan's jurisdiction and the Paracels via Hainan's jurisdiction. The Paracels and Spratlys were handed over to Republic of China control from Japan after the 1945 surrender of Japan, since the Allied powers assigned the Republic of China to receive Japanese surrenders in that area.
After WW2 ended, the Republic of China was the "most active claimaint". The Republic of China then garrisoned Itu Aba (Taiping) island in 1946 and posted Chinese flags and markers on it along with Woody island in the Paracels, France tried, but failed to make them leave Woody island. The aim of the Republic of China was to block the French claims. The Republic of China drew up the map showing the U shaped claim on the entire South China Sea, showing the Spratly and Paracels in Chinese territory, in 1947.
Taiwan's garrison from 1946–1950 and 1956-now on Itu Aba represents an "effective occupation" of the Spratly islands.
Japanese scholar Taoka Shunji criticised Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for trying to falsely portray China as a threat to Japan and that it was invading its neighbours like the Philippines, and pointed out that the Spratly islands were not part of the Philippines when the US acquired the Philippines from Spain in the Treaty of Paris in 1898, and the Japanese ruled Taiwan itself had annexed the Spratly islands in 1938 and the US ruled Philippines did not challenge the move and never asserted that it was their territory.

These 3 hypocritical and outsider busybody nations should not get themselves involved in the on-going South China Sea matters by their covert agenda of narrow interests.
Each of them, has some of its own historical baggage, in one way or the other that do not accord with the world's people opinions or common sense.
They should look at their own selves, and their backyard disputes with other neighboring countries in their regions.
In short, to them - please shut up and get lost - mind your own business !

The Hague outrageously biased ruling will not change the history and fact of China’s sovereignty over the South China Sea Islands and the adjacent waters; nor will it shake China’s resolve and determination to safeguard its sovereignty and relevant maritime rights and interests; nor will it affect China’s policy and position of resolving the disputes in the South China Sea by direct negotiation and working together with other States in the region to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea

US and Japan want ASEAN to be the frontline in their containment scheme against rising China. The unilateral compulsory ad hoc South China Sea arbitration was just a wedge, legally controvisial and unprecedented. ASEAN is an independent entity that endorses nothing but regional prosperity and stability. It does not want to be overly influenced by Washington DC, Beijing, Tokyo, Moscow, New Deli or Canberra.

All these disputes should not be happened if only China do nothing from any changes regarding the status quo of the existing environment, no dispute if no one claimed they owned these reefs and rocky outcrops. There were no disputes if only they let this water passage just for all who navigate the sea, for all who want to fished these waters.. and no one planned this water passage as their own military strategic place. This ocean is one of those vital sea way for merchant trade and transporting people going to other place. People greed in some way taking advantage for their own interests.

For God's sake, how can china claim almost all the of the south china sea including area almost at the shore of the Philippines. This is ridiculous. The Filipinos are peace loving people and we will ask china to leave the area inside the EEZ owned by the Philippines in a peaceful way through bilateral talks. To our current government, please remember china will never give up this area because they already instilled to their mind that what is theirs is theirs and what is OURS is theirs. There should not be any compromise even a joint exploration of oil in the area. If we can not achieve this in a peaceful way then we need to seek help from the UN. FILIPINOS ARE NOT COWARD. LETS GIVE OUR FUTURE GENERATION A BETTER COUNTRY TO LIVE IN WHERE THEY CAN FISH AND VENTURE LIVELIHOOD IN THE SEAS WE OWNED. EVEN IF IT MEANS OUR OWN LIVES. LET FUTURE GENERATION OF FILIPINOS REMEMBER OUR PRESENT GENERATION (21st CENTURY) AS THE GENERATION WHO FOUGHT COURAGEOUSLY DEPENDING THE SOVEREIGN OF THE PHILIPPINES.

If china has a proof then why she did not face the court it's very simple she can prove it without doubts that she owns SCS... is it difficult to face the court if you have a proof? of course not! it's the purpose why we have a court to find the truth behind the arguments.

Whatever claims China has on the South China Sea or in the West Philippines is Rubbish!!! And that's a fact!
All the Chinese claims are based on VERY OLD and ARCHAIC history. Nations today are talking of the PRESENT rule of law not some 100 year old fairy tale!
The only reason why China is expanding into other nation's territory is that they are trying to be a GREEDY BULLY with nothing in mind but expansionism. They are the new HITLER NATION!
I wonder IF they would do the same thing IF it were the US and RUSSIA owning these territories???

Then why China wouldn't want to talk bilateral with the Philippines based on the Hague ruling. This is just a case of bullying, divide and conquer tactic by China to assert themselves in these rocks and waters. US, Japan, and Australia are just outsiders who wants to give there two-cents on the mattter. Though they may also have interest in these waters, but are they building artificial islands, runways, docks in the area?
Who wants world war? No one, unless you're the Chinese goverment as they keep on insisting, insinuating that if the Philippines or any other smaller nation in the region responded to their dislike it will be war.
I am not blaming the US nor China in this issue. The question is why the Philippine goverment during Arroyo's reign let this happen?

Hi China thinks the HAGUE ruling is just a piece of waste paper. For the Philippines it is a legal decision which is Final and binding to all parties and a backing in written with legal basis for claim and Not a claim of decision which has no leagal/writen basis under any ruling by Internation Court. It is a pure Justification with the rule base judgement by International Court that the Philippines is the claimant to West Philippine sea and this is the country's basis, not a claim which is not back up by any basis at all not like China's 9 Dash Line which clearly has no legal, binding basis at all. Pure Imaginary and Hallucination. China is clearly very far from West Philippine Sea 3 to 4 tyms maybe 5 to 6 tyms far how come they first discovery it when its near to Philippine Land. Don't tell me the poor ancestress of Filipino native never got their first, Its just a common sense China is very Far from its claim, noting more nothing less.

The South China have been already judge it in HAGUE which is legal and binding and Final and they carry decision with regards to INTERNATIONAL LAW OF THE SEA OR DISPUTES. They clearly state that China has no legal historical Basis in the claim in West Philippine Sea its already rule that the Philippines is the clear claimant of that area which is part of its Territory. But yet again the Philippines want to Talk, because the Philippines don't want WAR to happen and waste lives by Filipino and other allies like American, Japanese or Australian and others... So put this in your Mind that the West Philippine Sea belongs to the Philippines its either time will tell if this will be resolve in a Peaceful Manner which the Philippines and other allies want to happen or in a difficult situation which all will be involve, Philippines and other countries using the West Philippine Sea using it as a free passage for their cargoes to trade, military operation for support to their allies and fly thru different routes all around the World. No Country's must have the rights to own a vast majority of the Sea which CHINA want to happen to control almost the entire sea and the International Community must not let that happen and let the rule of law prevail and not a claim that has no legal basis, which is not supported by International Ruling to succeed and control, And their basis is only made by Imagination and creation of mind. What ever discussion be made its already Final the West Philippine Sea belongs to the Philippines and the Sea must be free to all country to pass that is FINAL.

USA and its counterparts messed up mid-east , now , you see what is happening in German , France, Syria, etc. That is why, in Asia region ,People responses very cautiously to the USA , Japan and Australia's stirring up. People does not want the region to be cooked up and become a hot spot. Eventually people in the region will be suffered and then, USA, Japan & Australia to get the capital to flow in and benefitted.
